Sadly, this and other noteworthy performances, including Jonathan Cake as Frey’s talkative jewelry partner, are overshadowed by a poorly paced story. Her reactions to the events in the game are relatable and real, making her character stand out and deserving of recognition.īalinska’s performance stands out as Frey goes through a range of emotions from being ecstatic about her newfound earth-bending abilities to feeling horrified after being forced to kill to survive in Athia’s dangerous wilderness. As the only person immune to the Break’s effects and with the ability to use magic, Frey is reluctantly cast as the savior of the people, even though she is not eager to fulfill this role.Įlla Balinska delivers a phenomenal performance as Frey, truly capturing her emotional journey as she is stranded in a new world where she is either fighting off monsters or facing class discrimination. The once-respected protectors of the land, the Tantas, have now become oppressive rulers, forcing the people into the last remaining city of Cipal. The Break, a potent force of corruption, has spread throughout the land and caused all living creatures to turn into violent beasts. Together, they explore the world of Athia and its four realms, which are facing a dire crisis. She is unexpectedly transported from her home in New York to a magical world, having formed an accidental bond with a talking armband that she named Cuff. In the latest action RPG from Square Enix, you play as Frey Holland, a New Yorker with a tough background and a tendency to be wary. Nevertheless, Forspoken is for sure not the worst game, and I advise to ignore online criticism that takes elements of the story out of context to gain attention, with the latter half of the story being somewhat enjoyable.Īpart from all this though, Forspoken is a game that will leave you disappointed to some extent because of the missed chance to be truly extraordinary. Game stories do not necessarily need to be as intricate as Bioshock, but Forspoken often lacks creativity with its premise. The plot twists and turns are easily foreseeable. The game’s concept is basic and lacks excitement. The routine and monotonous side missions, however, do not offer much excitement beyond the simple pursuit of trophy hunting. However, its dynamic combat and flashy parkour system keep the short campaign entertaining. In many ways, it follows the same formula that has been seen in countless open-world RPGs over the last 15 years, with elements such as supernatural abilities, mythical creatures, and a looming threat to the world.įorspoken is a highly typical RPG, characterised by its dull story and unengaging open world. The game feels disappointing since it does not attempt to be unique or innovative. It fits into the category of open-world games, which are often criticised for being overloaded with excessive and unimportant tasks. Forspoken is a challenging game to sell as it has many positive aspects, but each of these is accompanied by a negative one.

No one pointed this out until now.Įven crazier, Sakura telegraphed G’s arrival before G was even in the game. No one saw this evidence just sitting there. What makes this whole thing even crazier is that the proof was sitting in front of us for nearly FOUR YEARS, untouched, unexamined, but nonetheless there for the world to see. Street Fighter V’s Sakura, clone or not, IS an agent of G. However, it took another two years, the announcement of Street Fighter 6, and a recent YouTube video to finally solidify what I had suspected all along: If I had only looked a little closer, the truth would have been uncovered. Little did I know, there was more to it than this. Based on the design choices we see in Sakura’s story, it looked like this Sakura was an imposter, someone whose entire purpose was to spy on others. It was a theory on Sakura Kasugano that claimed that the Sakura we see in Street Fighter V was a clone of the original and an agent of G. I’m not saying he’s Oni/Oro/Gill, people who say that might be stretching it, but it’s probably not a stretch to say that he’s pretty up there, certainly above Four Heavenly Kings tier given that he chucks around a guy twice Balrog’s size on the regular for kicks.Over two years ago, I posted one of the wildest theories I’ve ever done. They kind of don’t have to ‘hype him up’ or have him be very significant in the SF story for him to be higher tier, his strength kind of speaks for itself, which I think Capcom knew by having him casually smash through a brick wall with one punch when they introduced him for 5. With these gangsters usually in mobs of five or more, typically well armed, and Cody’s fighting these groups dozens of times over sequentially without tiring. Plus since all the main Final Fight games are canon to his backstory, he’s fought off like. Balrog can get some pretty intense swings in for his feats but even his CA doesn’t generate the force necessary to swirl up a tornado bigger than what Rashid can produce. I’d say he’s definitely beyond other ‘raw power’ heavy hitters like Balrog and Abigail. ¯_(ツ)_/¯Ĭody’s biggest disadvantage is that he has no ki usage, in gameplay alone his pure punching power is absolutely nothing to sneeze at. SFIV is the only game that hypes Cody up but he does nothing in the story so I think it’s unfair to rate Cody as high as people do ITT when Ryu puts in more work and actually beats people that matter. SFV he has no handcuffs and yet no one cares about Cody, he loses on-screen against Lucia and Poison in sparring matches. He was playable in SFA3 and none of the characters cared about his power. Too many characters to go through, but Cody is overrated.
